STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • We believe that there is one living, sovereign God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Almighty, infinitely excellent Creator of the universe and everything in it, giving breath to everyone, and therefore giving us life. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 42:5, Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14, Colossians 1:16-17)

  • We believe that the Bible is the living Word of God, without error and infallible. It is unchanging, proves true, and is eternal.  We affirm all 66 books of the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. All scripture is God inspired, the ultimate authority for our faith, and the light to our path as we walk in loving obedience to our God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, Psalm 119:105, Hebrews 4:12, 1 Peter 1:25, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

  • We believe that God sent His eternal Son, Jesus Christ in fulfillment of the old testament prophecies, pointing to the promised Messiah. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin. (John 1:1-18, Colossians 1:13-22)

  • Jesus Christ was and is both fully God and fully Man without sin, yet for our sins, He suffered, was crucified, and died in our place bearing our punishment.  God raised Him from the dead and He is now seated at the right hand of the Father in His Glory, having fulfilled God’s eternal and redemptive plan of love for the world. (Acts 2:24; Ephesians 1:20; John 3:16)

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and Advocate whose ministry is to counsel, comfort, guide, and instruct. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, beautifully regenerates hearts, unites us to Christ, and manifests Himself in spiritual gifts, indwelling and upholding the body of Christ for ministry and life. The Holy Spirit testifies about the crucified and risen Christ and glorifies Him. (John 15:26; John 16:13-14; Genesis 1:2, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13-14, John 15:26)

  • We believe that salvation is through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We come to faith and are united with Christ by the saving work of the Holy Spirit through God’s free grace, and not by our human works, good deeds, or religiosity. (Romans 10:9-10, 17; Ephesians 2:8)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church. He holds a position that no one else can occupy. The true church is the whole body of believers united to Christ through faith by His Spirit. (Colossians 1:18, 1 Corinthians 12:13)
